Oluwafunminiyi Akande is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and a Chartered Banker — a track record built on over 33 years of experience as a Chartered Accountant and a career spanning more than three banks. He also holds a PhD in Accounting.
As founder and Principal Partner of Niyi Akande Professional Services, he leads a practice that serves businesses, institutions and individuals across audit, tax, accounting and advisory. His counsel is sought for its clarity, independence and practicality.
His career spans over 33 years across more than three banks — from national service at NAPIMS (NNPC) and banking at Meridien Equity Bank and UBA Plc, where he led internal control units nationwide, to public practice as a Partner at U.S. Aladire & Co and academia as a part-time lecturer with the National Open University of Nigeria. He is also the driving force behind Wyseedge Global Investments Limited and Wyse Farms Limited, where he brings the same financial discipline to investing and to building sustainable, modern agriculture.
Alongside his practice, Oluwafunminiyi Akande researches and writes on banking, corporate value and accountability — publishing work that equips practitioners, scholars and enterprise leaders to make sounder financial decisions.

Foundations in accountancy
Audit trainee at Odubunmi Solarin & Co, Lagos; ND and HND in Accountancy at Yaba College of Technology — then lecturing in financial management at the college.

Industry, banking & the profession
Industrial training at NAPIMS (an NNPC subsidiary), credit, marketing and control roles at Meridien Equity Bank, and qualification as a Chartered Accountant of Nigeria.

Served in the Internal Control Division at Head Office, then as Zonal Head, Internal Control (South West) and later in Abuja — monitoring branches and reviewing credit and operational policies.
